The Polish Economic Institute has reported that Poland is now the fifth-largest exporter of cosmetics in Europe, with the products lauded for their “excellent quality.”

The institute said this week that cosmetics exports in 2018 were worth PLN 13.7 billion (EUR 3.15 billion), up 9 percent from 2017, and represented roughly one-60th of the country’s total exports.

The Economic Institute wrote: “Polish cosmetics products are easily identified and enjoy a good reputation among foreign buyers. They stand out for having excellent quality while being affordable.”

From 2014 to 2018, Poland’s cosmetics exports grew by 47 percent. The institute said that Poland has now become the fifth-largest European exporter of cosmetics, accounting for 6.4 percent of the market.

France is the European Union’s largest cosmetics exporter, accounting for almost a third of the market. Germany, Italy and the UK are in second, third and fourth places respectively.

Polish cosmetics find their way to 160 countries around the world, although the majority of exports go to European nations such as Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Spain.
